A plastic locker is just storage made from molded plastic instead of metal or wood. The solid ones use HDPE. Same stuff they make cutting boards out of. It doesn’t rust. It doesn’t soak up water. It takes a backpack thrown at it or a door kicked during an argument and keeps working. Schools, gyms, pools, factories — places with wet gear or rough daily use — pick these because they survive what kills steel lockers in a couple of seasons.
